October 2014 Half Term Holiday Activities in Bath
Join us at our science themed fun days this summer! Each day is run by highly trained Fun Scientists with enhanced DBS checks and first aid training and every day is jam packed with experiments, games, crafts and explosions. Whilst we may repeat some of our more popular activities from previous days, the majority of activities will be brand new.
Each day runs from 10 am – 3pm at the Ascension Church Hall, Bath, BA2 1AG and we also offer a stay and play service from 9am – 10am and 3pm – 5pm. All days are recommended for children aged 4-10.
Monday 27th October: Good Vibrations
On this day we will be experimenting with vibrations to make sound and movement – we will even make our own vegetable orchestra! We will also be making our own robotic critters to take home and learning what happens when our intestines vibrate.
Tuesday 28th October: Chemicals and Bubbles
Children will finish this day as bubble experts as we learn how to make the best possible bubble fluid, burn bubbles and even put ourselves inside bubbles! Plus we will be testing out some new chemical reactions and making soap to take home.
Thursday 30th October: Animations and 3D films
We will be starting the day by looking at some very early animation techniques and making our own red/blue 3D pictures before moving through to the 21st Century and working on making our own stop motion Lego Movie. Children will also learn some nifty tricks they can do with more modern 3D glasses.
Friday 31st October: The human body
In this session we will be learning about the ways our bodies adapt to their environment. What happens when we are hot and cold? Why do we sneeze when we have a cold? Find out the answers to these and lots of other questions – we will even be making our own edible blood and bogeys – eurgh!
Prices (10 am – 3pm) – 1 day - £18, 2 days - £34, 3 days - £50, 4 days - £64
We also offer an early drop off/pick up service from 9am-10am and 3pm-5pm. During these supervised play times we play games, run around in the garden, make things, play with lego, draw pictures and make friends. Children in the afternoon session also get a chance to repeat anything they have particularly enjoyed from the rest of the day. This is also a great time for children to bring any books or toys they would like to show the scientists/other children. Early drop off/stay and play is charged at £2.50 per child per hour.
