The club will run on 30th, 31st May and 1st June from 10am-3pm at Ascension Church, Claude Avenue, Bath, BA2 1AG with optional ‘stay and play’ from 9am-10am and 3pm-5pm. The days are perfect for children aged 4-10.

30th May – Electricity and Magnets – There will be plenty to take home on this day of electric investigation! We will be making magnetic slime, electromagnets and even our own LED torches as we explore circuits, switches and magnetism. Children will learn the difference between temporary, permanent and electromagnets and will be able to construct and troubleshoot their own circuits. We will even be learning about short circuits and how to avoid them.

31st May – The Earth – On this day we will be using playdough to explore the different layers of the earth, creating our own underwater volcanos, making fizzy eruptions and using chocolate to learn about earthquakes. We will also be using colour changing chemicals to explore UV light, simulating a tornado and making it rain indoors!

1st June – Baffling Bodies – Children will be able to test their heart rate, find out if they are a super- taster and even figure out their lung capacity with our range of scientific equipment. We will also be looking at our own teeth and comparing them to shark teeth which we will excavate from a rock and then take home! Other activities will include learning about germs and our immune system and making muscle models.
