Bath: Summer Holidays

Fun Science is back this Summer holiday with fun experiments to watch and do, things to make and items to explode! Each day is run by highly trained Fun Scientists with enhanced DBS checks and first aid training and is jam-packed with experiments, games, crafts and explosions.Home education science sessions in Somerset

The club will run on 1st, 2nd and 3rd August, and again on 22nd, 23rd and 24th August from 10am-3pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Mount View, Southdown, Bath, Somerset, BA2 1JX with optional ‘stay and play’ from 9am-10am and 3pm-5pm. The days are perfect for children aged 4-10.

Please note that the activities will be the repeated on the corresponding days (eg. Tuesday 1st and Tuesday 22nd)

Update – 1st, 2nd and 3rd August are now FULLY BOOKED

1st / 22nd August – Summer science – We will be making the most of the summer weather with bug hunts, campfire cooking, giant bubbles, den making, rocket launches and plant-based chemical reactions. (All activities will have an indoor alternative in case the sun doesn’t shine!)

2nd / 23rd August – Luminescence – This session is all about things that light up and glow. We will be exploring how pixels work (and investigating them under a microscope), making glow in the dark items and mini torches to take home, conducting chemi-luminescent reactions and ending with a UV light party!

3rd / 24th August – Slime and polymers – We love nothing more than making slime! Children will be investigating different ways of making slime and putty and then making their own rainbow slime, fluffy slime and floam. We have also got our hands on some polymorph, a plastic which can be moulded with body temperature, and children will be using this to make their own models to take home. Children will also be breaking down polymers with acid (safely!)
