Bath: October Half Term
Fun Science is back this October half term with fun experiments to watch and do, things to make and items to explode! Each day is run by highly trained Fun Scientists with enhanced DBS checks and first aid training and is jam-packed with experiments, games, crafts and explosions.
The club will run on 24th, 25th and 26th October from 10am-3pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Mount View, Bath, BA2 1JX with optional ‘stay and play’ from 9am-10am and 3pm-5pm. The days are perfect for children aged 4-10.
24th October – Willy Wonka’s Science Factory – Join us for loads of whizz popping food based fun! We will be finding out how candyfloss is made, making our own fizzy sherbet and sugar free fizzy drinks, seeing how we can alter our tastes and even finding out which of us is a super taster! Extra activities will include becoming oompa loompas in a game to find out if our sweets are sticky enough and making casein, a material from milk that is similar to plastic.
25th October – Rockets and Explosions – This day is all about pressure, fizzing and explosions. We will be using science to launch rockets, seeing how we can use air pressure to keep an egg from breaking, creating small explosions and watching big explosions. There will be lots of eruptions to get involved in and children will even be making their own mini launchable rockets to take home.
26th October – Spooky Science – Things are getting spooky with foaming pumpkins, exploding pumpkins and even floating pumpkins! Children will also be mixing up spider slime, creating spooky fog effects, using chemicals to make special effects and much more. Children are welcome to come in fancy dress if they like but please be aware that things may get messy!
All children will need a packed lunch and mid morning snack. Things can get messy at Fun Science so we recommend old clothing.
Please email email@example.com if you would like to be added to a waiting list for any of our fully booked days.
