Telford: October Half Term
Fun Science is here this Autumn with more experiments to watch and do, things to make and items to explode! Each day is run by highly trained Fun Scientists with enhanced DBS checks and first aid training and is jam-packed with experiments, games, crafts and explosions.
The club will run from 9 am – 3pm at Oak tree Centre, Lightmoor Way, Lightmoor Village Centre, Telford, TF4 3EG. The days are perfect for children aged 4-9.
Tuesday 30th October – Physical changes – Learn about physical reactions as we make it rain lemonade, test out a non-newtonian fluid, become bubble-ologists and make burning bubbles. Children will get to take part in a range of scientific experiments and will even make reacting lava lamps to take home!
Wednesday 31st October – Electricity and magnets – There will be plenty to do on this day of electric investigation! We will be making moving ‘bristle bots’, electromagnets and even compasses as we explore circuits, static and magnetism. Children will learn the difference between temporary, permanent and electromagnets. Children will then learn about static electricity with our hair-raising Van De Graaff generator, as well as making a human circuit!
Thursday 1st November – Senses and colours – Come along to our senses and colours day and learn a little more about your senses. We will be investigating rainbows, tricking our eyes and making some special scientific socks to take home. Activities will also include testing our sense of smell and making rainbows appear before our eyes!
