Covid-19 Response Statement
Safety is our top priority at Fun Science both for our staff and guests, that is why things will run slightly differently at parties, workshops and clubs upon resumption. These changes will remain in place during the COVID-19 outbreak. Our response will be under constant review subject to government guidelines.
Before entering a Fun Science holiday club or after school club session, children must wash their hands thoroughly and use the hand sanitizers provided. Before attending a Fun Science home visit or birthday party, children must wash their hands thoroughly or use their own hand sanitizer. If any of the children or their family display COVID-19 symptoms prior to the Fun Science service (party, workshop or club), we ask them not to attend. In the case of holiday clubs, we will offer to move their space to a future holiday club free of charge.
In line with government guidelines, all of our parties must currently take place outdoors, preferably in an open space or a large garden (providing that social distancing can be practiced) until indoor gatherings are permitted. Our presenter will bring a table and water with them so that there is no need for them to enter the school/home. 1:1 sessions may be run inside providing only one household and the presenter are in attendance.
NUMBER OF GUESTS AT GARDEN PARTIES
Please refer to the latest guidelines regarding gatherings. When calculating guest numbers, please take into account the presenter of the party and at least one supervising adult. It is your responsibility to ensure government guidelines for gatherings are adhered to and Fun Science accepts no responsibility for losses or fines caused by breaching the rules. We reserve the right to refuse entertainment if more than the allowed number of guests are in attendance and in this case your deposit would not be returned.
Until indoor gatherings are permitted, we will rearrange your party/workshop free of charge should the weather be inadequate on the day.
As far as possible, we ask guests to adhere to the latest social distancing guidelines when communicating with the presenter, however, the safety of children will remain our top priority and if emergency assistance is needed, we will interact with children as much as necessary. If your presenter shows symptoms of Covid-19 they will not be able to run the session. In this case we will replace the presenter the presenter or offer a refund or rearrangement if a replacement member of staff is not available.
Children will not be required to share equipment within sessions and equipment will be thoroughly washed between sessions. Where washing with hot soapy water is not suitable, equipment will be sprayed with alcohol spray of at least 70%. Where more than one party or session is to be provided within the same day, equipment that is touched by children will be used only once and a new set of equipment will be used for each group.
We will ensure social distancing is adhered to where appropriate within all sessions where parents are not in attendance. At outdoor parties, we will seat children 1m+ away from each other and ensure social distancing is maintanted at all times. When children are not actively taking part in the entertainment (e.g. on arrival, after the entertainment) social distancing will be the responsibility of the supervising adult.
Once holiday clubs are able to recommence, we ask that children bring a packed lunch containing food that they are able to open themselves and containing everything they need to eat their lunch (e.g. spoon, fork etc.) Children should bring a water bottle to every session.
We are currently only accepting BACs transfers rather than cash payments.
